Search Categories

Used in Advanced Search to group fields with similar meaning, such as all creators, all titles, or all remarks. In other words, it allows multiple fields to be searched at once

Saves searchers from having to know the field names in each database

Provides intellectual integration of the different databases

Search Categories are defined across all databases to provide an integrated intellectual model

Search Categories are used only in Advanced Searches. For Keyword Searches, all Search Categories are searched at once.
