MWeb Universal -- Slide 12
Subsets
-
Groupings of content to allow more precise searching
-
For example, a museum or museum consortium might have Objects, Library Materials, Archives, Slides, Artists, and Styles
-
A library or library consortium might have Reference Collection, Juvenilia, and Rare Books
-
Subsets are defined across all databases to provide an integrated intellectual model
-
By default, all Subsets are searched, so users do not have to think about this unless they want more precise results.
-
You may assign all content to a single Subset for simplicity
-
Here are diagrams of Subsets and Search Categories
